Differently abled soldiers complete computer literacy training program

A total of 28 differently -abled soldiers graduated last Nov. 8 from computer encoding and basic computer-literacy training conducted by The NOVA Foundation Training Center in Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City.

The NOVA Foundation has also offered ten slost to DND-AFP in its future training courses for differently-abled soldiers and their families.

As envisioned, the training program will help in "retooling" our differently-abled soldiers and helo them acquire new skills and competencies for better opportunities in terms of assignment in the DND-AFP, or employment in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.

The objective of the training program is to make our differently -abled soldiers more productive and gainfully employed.

DND Undersecretary for Finance Cecilio Lorenzo distributed the training certificates to the graduates in simple ceremonies held aat the Social Hall of the Department. Lorenzo was assisted by Manuel Agcaoili, president NOVA Foundation for the Differently Abled, Inc. and Dr. Peter Paul Reuben Galvez, officer-in-charge, Project Kapagdaka.

Project Kapagdaka is an office under the aegis of the DND which is mandated to work for the welfare and rehabilitation of differently-abled soldiers.
