The Business Processing Association, Philippines (BPA/P)
invites Nova Foundation to its Monthly Meeting
August 30,2006
Last Aug. 16, 2006, The Nova Foundation was invited by the Business Processing Association‚ Philippines to its monthly meeting held at the Dusit Hotel in Makati City. Mr. Manuel V. Agcaoili, gave a comprehensive presentation about the Foundation and pointed out the capABILITIES of the differently abled. The event was well attended by representatives from different companies in the BPO industry. During the event, the Foundation had put up a demo booth to showcase its on-line medical transcription training. This had been accomplished in coordination with OneMT (for the on-line medical transcription training), the National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP) and Manila Christian Computer Institute for the Deaf Foundation, Inc. (MCCID), who put-up their own booths to show the skills of the hearing-impaired in web design and animation. This invite from BPA/P is one major event and a step-up for the foundation’s advocacy campaign --- at the same time, it also served as a way to market its graduate trainees. It does not only promote the Foundation but it had brought those present to a new level of awareness because they were asked to look at the capABILITIES of the differently abled, not their disABILITY.
